We are Texas certified school teachers with experience in diverse classroom settings, including students with different cultural and linguistic backgrounds and learning abilities and styles. As professionals in the education field, we know and understand that children have individual needs, goals, motivations, strengths, and interests. Thus, we work to make our students' learning experience unique as we individualize their instruction to meet their specific needs.

A+ Minds was created to help close any gap children might have in their learning process to make it more meaningful and enjoyable; therefore, successful. We aim to help children acquire the academic skills they will need to succeed on the 21st century and prepare them to be able to think analytically. The children of today are the leaders of tomorrow. We want them to be competitive. As teachers, we understand the need of becoming part of a more intellectual and intelligent society; the society of knowledge.

The amount of funding for public education is decreasing significantly. Services and programs are being cut, and yet, the educational needs of students are the same. Parents need to have strong advocacy skills to make sure that educational standards remain high. We can't lower our expectations of what children can do.

WE OFFER:

Tutoring services, Kindergarten through 8th grade, in Reading, Writing/Language Arts, and Math

State-test preparation (now STAAR; previously TAKS) in any of the above subjects and grade levels

Supplemental education through classroom-extension activities

Accelerated instruction for gifted and talented children

Homework and schoolwork assistance, including the elaboration of school projects

Study skills training for better reading comprehension and retention

Academic Coaching for students struggling with time management, stress, and self-confidence

These sessions are not psychotherapy-based since they are conducted by professionals in the education
field, but they bring tremendous success. Mentoring is proven to make an impact in children's
education; therefore, in their lives.

School-readiness interventions for preschoolers and kindergarteners

In-home summer program to help children get better prepared for the next school year

Spanish classes for children and adults - Flat rates available for groups. Call us for more information.

Training to parents or guardians who wish to teach or reinforce concepts with their children at home

English-to-Spanish and Spanish-to-English translations of simple/plain texts and commercial documents..

During the school year:
Monday through Friday from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Saturday from 8:30 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.

During summer:
Monday through Friday from 8:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.
Saturday from 8:30 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.
